MP Now Wants CBC Scrapped
Nandi Hills MP Bernard Kitur now wants the Competency Based Curriculum scrapped off and 8-4-4 reintroduced back.
The UDA allied MP Claims that The new CBC program has been a burden to parents and even its implementation is in Limbo.
“Stop this thing called the CBC to Grade seven and eight and revert to 8.4.4 system and have a well thought-out program that will be reasonable to parents,” he said.
Speaking while distributing bursaries to needy students in Chesumei constituency, the MP pointed out the tough economic times we’re facing as a country to being a major contributor to the failing of CBC implementation.
He further asked the CS in-charge Of Education to help abolish the curriculum for it had brought more confusion in schools.
“The minister for education should just stop that crap. We should have a proper framework that will be reasonable in the pockets of many Kenyans who are going through difficult financial challenges.”
The New Competency Based Curriculum was introduced back in 2017 replacing the 8-4-4 system that was introduced by Late President Daniel Moi in 1985.
The New system will see Primary School Learning ending at Grade 6 and the pioneer class who did KPSEA in 2022 have already joined Junior Secondary School.
