University of Eldoret Bans Ragged Jeans, Tumbo Cuts and Mini- Skirts
The University of Eldoret has joined KeMU to ban indecent dress code practiced by students.
On a meno dated 19th, Jan 2023 through the Dean of Students’ office, the intelligentsia Dr. Kiboiy (PhD) has warned students over indecent attires.
The dress code which are not in line with the varsity rules and regulations as per students’ constitution, any abort to the rules will face the wrath of varsity disciplinary committee.
Ladies have been warned against putting on mini – skirts, skin tight trousers, ragged/torn jeans, tumbo-cuts, micro shorts and transparent attires showing bra straps or and sleeveless t-shirts.
As for gentlemen, sagging trousers, clothes revealing their chests and ragged/torn jeans have been termed inappropriate.
” All students are advised to at all time desist from inappropriate dressing while at the University as this may warrant disciplinary actions. Students are also expected to maintain gender compliant attire which should reflect their personal details as documented in the University admission records” the dean highlighted.
In less than two weeks, UoE joins Kenya Methodist University- KeMU to insist on decent attires by the students.
In KeMU, the Dean of Students Dr. Esther Mbaabu, barred students, men from keeping rastas and earrings.
On memo produced through the office of Dr. Mbaabu, male students appearing with caps in classes, earrings, rastas/dreadlocks, untucked shirts and vests expositing their chests will face the rough side of the disciplinary committee.
To female students, tumbo cuts exposing belly and navals, miniskirts above the knee, see me through clothes and those clothes exposing backs among other indecent dress code are uncalled for by the University.
The two institutions now join Catholic University and Strathmore University to uphold decent moral dress code culture among students.
