Dr. Ofweneke has hailed Pastor Robert Burale after he voluntarily helped him during the COVID-19 pandemic. While on the radio on Thursday evening, Ofweneke said the preacher helped him when he was in a financial crisis.

Dr. Ofweneke said that during the pandemic, he had left home with his family, including the newly born baby and while at home in Kakamega, it took him seven months to run out of money.

I tried and survived from January to July, and when August arrived, I had used all my savings. At that time, there were no events that could be performed because of the government’s guidelines in dealing with COVID-19.” Dr. Ofweneke revealed.

However, Dr. Ofweneke recounted that in August, pastor Robert Burale became his God sent helper. He said the preacher treated him like his child and checked on him daily until everything was okay.

My big brother Robert Burale alikuwa akinipigia kila siku kuniuliza, ‘small brother, do you need any money ya chakula kwa ajili yako na familia na mtoto?’ every single day. Kila siku Burale alikuwa akini-call.” Dr. Ofweneke shared.

Ofweneke added that Pastor Burale confronted him any day he failed to call and ask for money to buy milk for the baby and get food for the family.

“‘Mtoto hana maziwa na huna pesa, mbona hujanipigia? I was like, oh, my goodness, what kind of a man is this one? Imagine mtu anakupigia simu asubuhi kukugombanisha kwa nini hujamwitisha pesa. Kwa nini hujamkopa na hata kwa huo mkopo aliniambia nisiwahimrudishia.” He added.

However, he lauded the preacher for his kind heart and advised men to support fellow men who are struggling. “Mimi huwezi ukaongea vibaya juu ya Burale mbele yangu. Nitakutupa mbali sana,” he said. “A man should never let the tears of another man touch the ground.” He added.
