Evelyn Wanjiru Opens Up on Marriage Challenges and Miracle Baby
Evelyn Wanjiru, Kenya’s gospel artiste shared that she stayed over seven years in marriage without getting a child to call her mom.
In an exclusive talk with Kambua, the celebrated musician revealed that the problem for her case was hormonal imbalance and it took a toll on her wellbeing.
Wanjiru revealed that although she never heard negative comments from her in-laws, social media users didn’t spare a single word or question to direct at her.

“The first year, I’m sure the family ‘doubted’ something, but because they respected him, there was a certain level “they couldn’t reach,” or maybe they did, but it didn’t reach me. He used to protect me but my social media family was very ‘generous’. They used to ask inward-outwardly.” Wanjiru said.
The Unaweza hitmaker shared that in other events, she used to feel like a failure to her husband Agunda Bweni since he loved her with his whole heart but there wasn’t a special gift of reciprocation from her.
“I was a sad girl. Reason? I felt I loved this guy too much and failed to give him one thing that would make him feel like a man to the extent that we were even scared of carrying anybody’s child. Alikuwa akiona hata watoto he just waves at them ‘hi toto’ na akiona wanamjia, unaona tu anajikunja. We felt unaweza ukashika mtoto wa wenyewe aanguke hapo chini…” She emotionally narrated.

On other occasions, she revealed that after an event, some people could ask her the number of children she had, and she could respond to them, but deep down, she was hurting.
“I used to introduce my husband as this is my husband; we produce music and children, and people will feel excited, but after the meeting, people would ask me, “How many children do you have?” And that conversation would spark things up.” She narrated, adding that friends even feared inviting her to their baby showers.
“I never got invitations to baby showers and some of them were my close friends. Some, I would attend but they could fail to raise the topic of discussion because of my presence.” She added.

She disclosed that one day, she broke down into tears because of being childless and her husband was clocking 40 without a child to call him dad. However, God came to her rescue.
“One day I cried to God and asked Him why He allowed me to experience shame. It was too much, and I couldn’t withstand it. God told me, ‘Evelyn your season is yet. I am a God of season.” Wanjiru shared, adding that she and her husband later approached a special doctor who helped her with medication for her hormonal condition.
After being in a marriage for nine years without a child, Wanjiru received the fruit of her womb and delivered a baby boy named Mshindi who currently, he’s two years old.
“Whether you are a man or a woman, the moment you’re about to give up, just know God’s blessings are around the corner and you miss your blessings because of not being sensitive to the voice of God. Don’t stop praying.” She advised.
