Apart from being an investor at the club, Ratcliffe is a longtime Manchester United supporter. In an interview with Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast, he was asked to name his favourite Manchester United player to ever don The Red Devils jersey, “The greatest to have ever played for United? Probably Ronaldo, I guess. I would think Cristiano Ronaldo.”

He also said that he loved George Best as another favourite player to ever wear United shirt, “Geroge Best was, I suppose, probably the most naturally gifted player I have ever seen play football.”

Ratcliffe was also asked which player from the past he would be willing to reintegrate back to the current Erik ten Hag squad, and his choice wasn’t either Cristiano Ronaldo or George Best who are his favourite United players.

Ratcliffe settled for Paul Scholes, “I think that’s the player that they’re most missing. They have a couple of players who, they’re not Roy Keane, but can play defensive midfield like Casemiro and Mainoo,” “But they don’t have a Paul Scholes or an Iniesta-type player.”
