Rasmus Hojlund In Trouble With Manchester United Teammates For Doing An Interview

Manchester United and Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund has found himself in the midst of controversy after doing an interview with a controversial YouTube fan channel known as ‘The United Stand’.

At the beginning of February, the 21-year-old sat down with Mark Goldbridge for a 15-minute interview that has raised eyebrows among his teammates. In the past The United Stand channel has been criticized by a number of Manchester United players as well as club legends for his negative opinions as well as criticizing players at some point. Former United player Paul Parker said that the channel was “causing menace” at the club. Parker accused Goldbridge being a Nottingham Forest fan, “attacking the club, the manager, and the owners of a football club that he doesn’t even love since he is a Nottingham Forest fan.”

The interview drew a lot of attention where from fans worldwide, gaining over 500,000 views and 2,000+ comments with Hojlund opening up on his life since joining Manchester United. However, according to the United We Stand fanzine it reports that some of Hojlund’s teammates were not pleased with the Danish striker conducting the interview with the ‘negative channel’ which is run by Mark Goldbridge.

The United We Stand boss Goldbridge came out to defend the interview saying the criticisms are based on the jealousy point of view. “Jealousy always seems to burn brightest on a Sunday lol! So, that interview took months to put together. “Everyone in the club was aware, the player and others were doing media on a training day at Carrington, we were there all morning. If anyone wanted to stop it, they could (have).” Goldbridge wrote on X formerly Twitter.

Hojlund had a good run after scoring in 6 premier league matches in a row becoming the youngest player to achieve that in the premier League history before sustaining a thigh injury that has put him in the sidelines for almost three weeks now.

He is expected to return to action this weekend in FA Cup Quarter Final clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford as confirmed by Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand: “Rasmus [Højlund] will play on Sunday against Liverpool and must go through the match well. That’s what we expect. We are in contact with Manchester United. I have talked to Erik [ten Hag], and we expect it to happen.”.
