Jacky Vike, popularly known as Awinja revealed she was raised in Ghetto before making it in life. Speaking to Betty Kyallo on TV 47, the actress highlighted several things that made her desire to leave Ghetto life.

 

Vike revealed that most young girls of her age got pregnant while still at school and life was not appealing. She claimed insecurity was also a problem, and the environment was not conducive.

 

My agemates that we schooled together got pregnant at a very young age so I dreamed of making it in life and relocating my mom,” Vike explained.

The celebrated actress also revealed that she was almost traumatized after the sudden of her brother. She said her brother who was then 20, was killed for allegedly associating himself with thugs.

 

She explained that his death was painful and hurt the entire family including her mother. According to her, the painful experience pushed her to move out of the Ghetto.

 

When I lost my brother, I felt was not my place. My brother was shot and it was through association. The people he was hanging around with and the fact that if you’re a thug, you get chicks easily or probably when you hover or hang around thugs,” She narrated.
