Muhoroni Youth In Crisis Over Unpaid Salaries
Muhoroni Youth, newly promoted club to Kenya Premier league is currently at the bottom of the table with only 8 points after 13 matches.
The team joined KPL after beating Migori Youth 3-0 in FKF promotion playoff to book place in Kenya’s FKF premier league.
Currently, the team is leading from bottom with only 8 points after 13 matches where it conceded 1 match, drew 5 and lost 7 matches this season.

Formerly Wazito FC, decided to change their name in July after FKF gave them greenlight to do so. The club argued that sponsorship approach was a challenge citing the name Wazito had become a baggage.
According to club CEO Collince Dave; “It was evident that we were going to change names. Muhoroni Youth has been our brand since the club was formed in 2011,”
“The name had become a problem. We have been engaging sponsors but they are not familiar and comfortable with the name Wazito FC. We had to change because we have big plans for the team,” he said.

Now, the club is in crisis and unable to pay some of their players their salaries. Following the case, three players have left the club by termination of their contracts recent player being Collins Neto who departed citing non-payment of his dues.
Neto abstained from the last two games in protest against the club’s failure to pay him for several months despite his contract set to end on 8th January 2024.

He is the third player to exit Muhoroni Youth after goalkeeper Ezekiel Owade and Tom Muthomi leaving over pending dues from the club.
