Man Visits Campus Unannounced, Fails To Find Daughter

Residents in Kitemba Village, Mubende District woke up to sad news that the daughter of one of their neighbors had ended her own life.

 

The deceased who is said to have committed suicide was identified as 20-year-old Nshemeza Agnes, a finalist student at Mityana School Of Nursing.

 

Explaining the possible cause of the suicide, Kakuru Edith, the deceased’s aunty, revealed that her niece was punished by her father Nshemeirwe Robert after he visited her school and did not find her there.

“He said he expected a lot of good things from his child because he loved her so much. It is the reason he decided to punish her when he didn’t find her at school,” she said.

 

Residents who witnessed Agnes’ body hanging from the mango tree in the morning revealed that they found a number of wounds on her body, a sign that she was beaten.

 

According to Wamala Region police spokesperson Kawala Racheal, the deceased’s father went to her school and when he didn’t find her, he carried all her stuff back home.

“The child told him she had gone to Kampala, something that didn’t please him. When she went home on 4th this month, he punished her. But after all that, they sorted their indifferences  and on 6th they were seen in Mubende town together,” She said.

 

Residents advised children to always listen to their parents and not to think punishments were are sign that they aren’t loved.

 

“Children should go to school and study not to play around and when a parent corrects you about something, please listen because they mean the best for you,” a concerned neighbor said.
