Home » Man Arrested After CCTV Shows Him Scamming Customers In Bank

Police in Mityana have arrested Kwebesa Moses on claims that he was caught defrauding Centenary Bank customers who visit the premises.

 

According to the Wamala Region police spokesperson Kawala Racheal, Kwebesa, a resident of Maddu Village, Gomba District visited the bank in August this year conning a number of people. His second visit to this bank caused his arrest after he was seen on camera stealing from a bank customer.

Upon his arrest, he was found with pieces of paper that look like money. He uses the counterfeits to play tricks on his victims.

 

“The CCTV cameras from the bank captured him and when we arrested him, we found him with counterfeit notes,” She said

 

A number of witnesses also came forward and confirmed to police that they were scammed by the same person.

Katete Joseph, the manager Centenary Bank Mityana Branch calmed the bank customers saying they were doing their best to see that such acts are put to an end.

He also advised clients to only engage with bank employees putting on the bank uniform to avoid being scammed.
