Graduate Sets His Certificates On Fire After Failing To Secure Decent Job For 13 Years
A university graduate has set his academic certificates on fire after failing to secure a Government job for over 13 years since his graduated from campus.
The man identified as Lutimain Alvin Lanre in a viral video shared on X, said his primary to varsity certificates haven’t given him a job.
He claimed most jobs in his country Nigeria meant for educated elites like him are now carried out by school dropouts and those who even never dared to reach campus.
The Ajayi Crowther University graduate despite having an undergratuate degree, also joined National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2013, but since then has been bidding jobs with people who never school like him.
Following the case, Lutimain decided to set all his primary, high school and varsity academic certificates on fire since they were useless.
Nigeria just like Kenya; many varsity graduates have set their degrees on fire as others die by suicide after failing to secure decent jobs.
Early 2023, a Mt Kenya University graduate set his Degree on fire alleging fortune has never knocked at his door to make him enjoy the fruits of his academics.
Beside the Mt. Kenya University graduate; one Engineering graduate from Egerton varsity died by suicide after being unemployed for a while despite having got a First Class Honors Degree as an undergratuate.
Lutimain’s step to set his certificates on fire has made netizens on X react on it as many claim after graduation; one should walk around the streets like a school drop out and grab whatever opportunity comes on his way.
