Man Dumps Wife For Giving Birth To Only Girls After Infecting Her With HIV.
32-year-old Wasse Phiona, a resident of kikajjo Nakawuka is in a bad state after her man infected her with HIV and ran away, leaving her helpless and stranded with their children.
Wasse stayed with the father of her children, a builder for 16 and when they first met, she was negative. The couple had been childless for a long time until she realized she was pregnant with their first born.
“At seven months of my pregnancy, I felt so ill and when they checked my blood, I tested positive for HIV,” she narrated.

Wasse revealed that she was never aware of her husband’s positive status before but knew he had infected her because she one time discovered his medication hidden in his work bag together with his construction tools.
“I made the decision to start taking ARVs right away and I have been doing so for the last seven years,” she said.
The couple welcomed their first daughter who was completely healthy and after four years, she got pregnant again, giving birth to a set of twin girls who were also negative.
“This was when my husband started changing and when our twins turned a year and a half, they fell so sick and when I took them to Mulago, they discovered they had tuberculosis. We spent two months on admission,” she stated.

Wasse revealed that the husband ran away from their home and does not take care of the home or their children. She tried reporting the matter to Old Kampala police and when he was summoned, he only bought a cup of milk everyday for a week to be shared amongst the three children.
“The medication requires me to first eat something before swallowing it but I can’t afford it. We were thrown out of our house because we have not paid rent for two months,” she said.
Wasse and her children spend the day at a Pentecostal church and at night go back to their former home to sleep in the toilet.
