As Kenya’s Energy CS Davis ChirChir project a possible rise of fuel to Ksh: 300 due to Israel-Hamas war, Tanzania has announced decrease in fuel prices.

 

According to Tanzania’s  Energy and Water Utilities Authority (EWURA), they are lowering fuel prices in line with November trends in the global market.

 

”Changes in prices of petroleum products in November 2023 are mainly due to the decrease in the world oil price by an average of 5.68%, and a decrease in premiums for the importation of petroleum products by an average of 13% for PMS and 25% for AGO, reduction of the production of petroleum products by OPEC+ and economic sanctions on Russia,” reported EWURA 

 

As per the decrease, the price of petrol in Tanzania will be  to Tsh 3274 (Ksh 197.62) per litre in Dar es Salaam region from the previous Tsh 3281 ( Ksh 198.04).

 

Diesel will now be  Tsh 3374 ( Ksh 203.65) in Dar es Saalam from Tsh 3448 ( Ksh 208.12)

 

In Tanga region, petrol costs Tsh 3,320 (Ksh. 200.39) from the previous Tsh 3,327(Ksh 200.82).

Tanzania fuel prices indicating a significant decrease

Kenyans have angrily reacted to the decrease in fuel prices in Tanzania questioning the difference in prices as prices in President Ruto’s led land are set to rise.

 

“What is going on in Kenya?” one posed

 

“Ya Kenya ni kama inajingurumisha,” another said
