Ulinzi Stars Coach Bernard Mwalala Resigns

Ulinzi Stars head coach Bernard Mwalala has announced that he will tender his resignation tomorrow after the FFK Cup against Tusker at Nyayo National Stadium.

The news has come as surprise to the players who were focused on winning the Cup and secure chance to represent the country in CAF Confederation Cup football for the 2023/24 season.

According to insiders, Mwalala told the players he will step down on Friday after the end of the encounter with Tusker.

“The coach has told us that he is leaving, no one saw it coming because we had trained well and after that he called for a meeting and informed us that tomorrow’s game will be his last in charge of the team,” one player told a local publication.

The source reveal that Mwalala was leaving due to hostility from Ulinzi stars management especially after the embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Bidco United two days ago.

“He did not give us much details but he pointed at unbearable working conditions as the reason to quit. It’s a shocker but we have to focus on tomorrow’s game and try to win it for him because he has been a good coach for us since he joined the club at start of the season,” the player added.

The coach is leaving the club after just Eight months in charge.
