Woman Breaks Down Before Judge Who Released Abusive Husband
He turned the station into his home/one accused him
A woman has cried before the judge for setting free her husband who she says threatened to kill her.
35-year-old Nakagimu Harriet, a resident of Lukwanga, Wakiso District broke down before the court after the judge ruled that her husband Sserugo Hassan was to be granted bail without waiting for her to testify against him.
Nakagimu accuses her husband of torture and physically assaulting her at any given time. This forced her to move out of their marital home but claims her husband continues to stalk with promises of harming her.
The couple has been married for 15 years and sired four children and according to Nakagimu, she lives in fear of what her husband would do to her given the chance.
Nakagimu had reported the case to police under file number SD REF.21/6/05/2023 and when he stood before the judge, Sserugo pleaded not guilty to the charges of domestic abuse.
The accused was released on bail before Nakagimu got to court. Their next hearing was announced for 31st May, 2023.
