Kenyan sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala is confident that he will beat his African 100m record of 9.77 seconds set at the Kip Keino nearly two years ago.

Omanyala is lining up for this year Kip Keino Classic at Kasarani stadium set for tomorrow 12th May 2023.

The 27 year old will try to defend his title when he meet against American Kenny Bednarek, and Aaron Brown, a member of the Canadian 4x100m relay silver medal-winning team at the Tokyo Olympics.

Bednarek is the Olympic 200m silver medallist who has a personal best of 9.98 seconds.

“I have run very good 100m times this year. If you think you have seen me run fast, you ain’t seen anything yet. It has taken too long to break the Africa record. If the conditions are good tomorrow with warm temperatures and no rains, then everything will fall in place.” Said Omanyala

The fourth edition of Absa Kip Keino continental tour will go down at the kasarani stadium in Nairobi
