The Lakers Eliminate Warriors
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 122-101 and advanced to the Western Conference Finals.
Since Steve Kerr took over as head coach in the 2014–15 season, the Warriors had never lost in the postseason to a Western Conference team. Stephen Curry’s 32 points and Donte DiVincenzo’s 16 points off the bench were not enough to force a game 7. Klay Thompson struggled for the fourth game in a row, making just 2 of 12 three-point attempts while finishing the game with just 8 points.
LeBron James led the Lakers with 30 points, and Anthony Davis contributed 17 points and 20 rebounds. D’Angelo Russell scored 19 points, and Austin Reaves scored 23 points in Game 6 at the Crypto Arena.
Speaking after the win, Lebron James was happy they came out victorious. “Not many of our players have been in close-out games. So after Game 5’s defeat on Wednesday, I knew I had to come in with a lot of aggression but be efficient and strategic in how I played this game.” He said.
The Lakers will face off against the Denver Nuggets in the western conference finals for a place in the NBA finals.
