Man Kills Lover For Carrying Out Abortion Without His Consent
A man in Butansi Sub County in Kamuli District has been arrested for beating his wife to death for allegedly carrying out an abortion without his consent.
The suspect identified as Mugaya Yoweri a resident of Bulyapande Zone is said to have hacked his wife to death after she terminated a pregnancy.
Before the incident, residents report that Mugaya personally escorted the deceased to a traditional herbalist who gave her medicine to abort but they were surprised when he turned against her and beat her to death.
In return, an angry mob descended on him and beat him. He was saved by the police who rushed him to Kamuli District hospital where he is admitted in coma.
The body of the deceased was taken to the same hospital mortuary for autopsy before being handed over to the relatives for burial.
Butansi Sub County council speaker, Mikago Azalia described the incident as unfortunate and called upon couples to embrace marriage counseling to prevent domestic violence.
