Bungoma Residents Vow To Stage Protests If ‘Yesu’ Is Arrested
Bungoma: Netizens have vowed to go to street in case self acclaimed Jesus is arrested.
Mr Eliud Wekesa, 42 was detained at Bungoma Police Station on 11th, May 2023 following the ongoing mass regulations of churches and weeding out cult religions.
Popular name Yesu wa Tongaren has been on limelight, over his claims of being the real biblical Jesus raising eyebrows in the minds of staunch believers of the gospel.
However, on Thursday, Bungoma law courts ordered for a one – day detainance of Yesu wa Tongaren after being found owning and leading unregistered church- New Jerusalem.
Previously, there were allegations Yesu’s church doctrines and activities were barring worshippers from letting children go to school and seek medication.
Though, upon police investigation and interrogation led by Bungoma Police Commander Francis Kooli, Yesu when appearing before him for a summon admitted preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ and his people let children go to school and seek medical attention from hospitals.
” Sinako jambo lolote. Mimi nahubiri tu injili. Huenda wamesikia mambo ambayo hayako” Yesu told the press before appearing before police commander Mr. Kooli.
However, upon his appearance before the law enforcer on Thursday, he was detained and set to reappear before the Bungoma law courts (today) Friday.
Netizens on the other hand led by celebrated singer Steve Kay popularly Wambumuli Dynamic have vowed to match to the streets of Bungoma in case Friday’s court probing lead to Yesu’s arrest.
” Nataka serikali yote korti ya Bungoma. Magistrate registrar unisikize hivi, nataka huyo jamaa aachiliwe kwa sababu vile nimekuwa boma lake, Hana kitu inaitwa pesa wala watu ambao kwamba amewaweka wanaishi huko. Hana hata kaburi kwa boma lake, hana ng’ombe” says Steve Kay.
The singer who has been in Music industry for over 10 years, has further defended Yesu by saying the Shakahola massacre tale- tells shouldn’t lead to the arrest of innocent people like Yesu.
“Shida ambayo Mackenzie amefanya na watu wanauza maji, isikuje i-affect watu wetu wa Bungoma.
” Huyu mtu hajahusika kwa mambo yoyote ya mauaji. Yeye anajiita tu Yesu wa Tongaren jina lake la mtaa.

On social media, Bungoma netizens are also fuming demanding for the release of Yesu from detainance. Netizens claim Yesu is just a humble comedian and a person preaching his gospel in his own unique way.
