Ex-Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga Alleges Police Raided His Homes
Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has claimed his homes were raided by armed police officers over unknown reasons.
Njenga says contingents of police invaded his Karen and Lavington homes in Nairobi and another home in his native hometown in Nyandarua county on Thursday Night.
He alleged that officers told his employees that they were looking for him but did not explain why.
“They said they were looking for me. I do not know why but I see it as politics and harassment, which should stop,” said Njenga.
Maina Njenga further claims that the raid was in connection with the Saturday Field Marshal Mukami Kimathi burial on Saturday in Njabini, Kinangop Nyandarua County where they are planning to stop him from attending.
Mukami will be accorded a state funeral tomorrow and President William Ruto is expected to attend. She was the wife of the late Mau Mau fighter Dedan Kimathi
“I was at the home of Kimathi on Thursday and told the family we will come with baba (Raila) and I think this is the reason they are doing this. It is a funeral and let it be,” he said.
