“Uongo!” Crowd Shout At Gachagua
DP Gachagua today during the Labour Day Celebrations had to counter his audience who interrupted his speech over what they saw as a lie uttered by the country’ second in command.
As he went on with delivering his speech, DP thanked President William Ruto for stabilising the economy despite inheriting the Government when the country’s economy was “in a very difficult place”.
He further added that today there are signs of economic recovery.
“We thank you (Ruto) for the great efforts you have put in to restore the economy and we are glad that there are signs of recovery. Through prudent management and well-thought-out interventions, you have successfully brought down the cost of unga from an all-time high of Ksh.230 to slightly above Ksh.150
“Uongo, hiyo ni uongo,” the crowd shouted
He had to counter the audience by confirming that that is the real price of maize flour.
“It is true, it is in between 150 and 170 depending on where you buy”
