Wife Arrested In Plot To Kill Husband

Police in Kira are investigating a newly wedded bride accused of championing a gang of criminals that threatened to kill her husband.
Nakirijja Rehemah, an accountant and resident of Bweyogerere – Kirinya in Kira Municipality earlier this year got married to Mutesasira Siraje, a prominent businessman and owner of an animal feeds shop; Best Quality Feeds located in Kireka-Namugongo Road.
Siraje narrated to police that he was alerted about the plot that was meant to eliminate him through the numerous anonymous phone calls he has been receiving for the past three months. In the strange calls, different men and women have been telling him how his first wife of 17 years, Namubiru Annet, was behind the murder plot. Mutesasira started watching for any signs and change in attitude and when he failed to notice any, he ran to police for help.
His case was registered at Kira Police under case number SDREF; 73/06/04/2023 at the beginning of this month. When investigators tracked the phone numbers used to call Siraje, they arrested Masengere Tadeo in Masaka and Kagoya Teopista in Kamuli, Busoga who in return implicated Nakirijja of being part of the murder plot.
Nakirijja was immediately arrested and while at the police station, she confessed before her husband as the culprit behind the strange phone calls.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the suspects and revealed that they had been granted bail as investigations are being carried out by prosecution. They will be arraigned in court and charged for threatening to kill.
