Diogo Jota Hero As Liverpool Survives Tottenham’s Wrath

Liverpool survived Tottenham Hotspur’s scare as they won 4-3 at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Within 15 minutes, Liverpool had a 3-0 lead and looked poised to run riot against the Spurs.

Curtis Jones scored his first goal of the year, Luis Diaz added another to mark his first start since October, and Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot to give the Anfield faithful a dream start.

Harry Kane pulled one back for the Spurs before halftime to give the Spurs some hope. In the second half, Son scored Tottenham’s second, and it was game on at Anfield.

Richarlison then scored the equalizer in the 93rd minute, to the shock of many Anfield faithful.

However, substitute Diogo Jota had other ideas, as he struck the winner and brought a lot of noise to the Anfield faithfuls.

After the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp urged Spurs to play good football:

“I understand that Ryan has to worry about other things. They’re such a good football team, Tottenham; they have to play better football. They can’t just counterattack; they have to play better football with that team. Diogo Jota has the foot high, but he’s not going for the head.” He said.
