Siaya Man Stab Elder Brother To Death Over Piece Of Ugali
Man aged 24 years is in police custody for stabbing his elder brother to death over food in Sirongo-Oware in CentRal Alego, Siaya County.
Lawrence Oduor Wayodi, 24 years old, is believed to have picked up a heated quarrel with his 26 years old brother, Erick Otieno, which resulted to the unfortunate occurrence
The suspect is being held at Siaya Police Station.
Assistant Chief Kakumu-Kombewa sub-location Philip Ogola confirmed the incident revealing that the deceased met his death after having a slight misunderstanding with the suspect who had demands over the evening meal he was preparing.
He stated that he visited the scene and found the deceased’s body lying in a pool of blood with several knife wounds all over the chest.
According to Mr. Ogola, the late had excused himself from the kitchen to his house and when he came back he realized that the knife he was using to chop the ingredients was missing.
Mr Ogola further disclosed that the deceased asked for the knife from his brother who instead poured water in the fire and as a result the two started fighting. In the process the suspect picked the knife and stabbed his brother to death.
Oduor surrendered himself to Assistant Chief’s office after committing the crime.
Ogola called the police who took the body to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary, while the suspect was placed in custody for further interrogation.
The two brothers are orphans and they have been staying in their parents’ home.
