Ledama Olekina Hints On Reemergence of Anti-Government Protests

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has signaled the possibility of another anti-government demonstration by the opposition party.

The diehard supporter of the Azimio la Umoja Leader in a tweet indicated that lack of seriousness from Kenya Kwanza Alliance in the Bipartisan Talks could influence their decision to go back to streets.

“The lack of seriousness of the bipartisan deliberation on the KK part is the straw that broke the camel’s back! We are back to the people,” Olekina tweeted.

Olekina in a past interview recently also revealed that the discussion between the government and the opposition will draw emphasis on affordability and welfare of Kenyans.

“The price of living must decrease! This will be the main topic of conversation. Millions of shillings must be paid out as compensation to all those who died or were hurt,” he said.

Earlier on, Kenya kwanza named a seven member team of three senators and four members of parliament led by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale to represent the government in the negotiations with the opposition.

Other members include Senator Hillary Segei, Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri, and George Murugara MP Tharaka, Mwangi Mutuse MP Kibwezi West, Lydia Haika Women Rep Taita Taveta and Adan Keynan MP Eldas.

Chief opposition Leader Raila Odinga last week announced his team during the Azimio La Umoja Parliamentary group meeting in Machakos.

The group comprised of Nairobi Senator and ODM SG Edwin Sifuna, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, and Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua

The members of parliament  list include MPs Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), David P’Kosing (Pokot South), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North) and Amina Mnyanzi (Malindi).
