Landlord Requests For LinkedIn Profile Before Renting Houses
Under the high economic environment in this post covid years, some commodities have been reduced in most families just to curb losses and makers to amase high profits in their businesses.
In Bengaluru, India; landlords around the Silicon Valley are now demanding clients to submit write-ups, LinkedIn profile and Identity Cards for verification in order to be rented a house.
This has raised controversies among employees securing jobs around Bengaluru as many left in awe without a word to say.
One man by the name Goutham has taken to Twitter his experience with two persons; one a broker and another one, landlord.
In a WhatsApp screenshot he has shared, a broker requested him to provide a LinkedIn profile and a write-up for verification in order to get help and secure a house to rent.
However, he never secured it because of failing to attend an interview and also, pay a deposit for the house.
On his Twitter threads, some with an experience like Goutham have also shared what they went through at Bengaluru, Indiranagar and Koramangala.
” This is happening quite a lot in Bengaluru, I know a couple of my friends who are ready to pay a good amount for rent but they’re asked a lot of questions with and then the rent is quoted again with an increased price. They’re still hunting for a house” says one Twitter user.
Another one has said securing a house especially Indiranagar and Koramangala has become a hurdle unlike past years with a claim that perhaps the IT guys want to only surround themselves with tech savvy lovers.
In Gurgao, one has disclosed that during the post covid, landlords are using the vastly growing silicon valley to fetch a lot of money lost during covid.
“Happens in Gurgao too. You have to send a LinkedIn profile and if you are not a salaried employee, you don’t get a house. It’s like startups landlords and old ones are doing so to rent houses to people they know will pay on time without a complain” one user adds.
Another one has disclosed that the landlord requested for his CV, LinkedIn profile and payslips then called for an interview as if he was getting employed or had applied for a job interview. Though he did as requested, he was never contacted till today.
