Man by the name Jack was yesterday fired by his boss after failing to report to work.

 

In a trending WhatsApp screenshot shared on social media, Jack did not report to work on 20th, March 2023 claiming it was a public holiday.

 

On 20th March, Azimio la Umoja coalition staged a national demonstration in Kenya because of the existing corrupt government, unemployment and high economy.

 

The demonstration which left at least four dead nationwide as many teargassed, some key politicians in the demonstration were arrested and bailed each Ksh 50,000.

 

At 10 am on 20th, Jack was texted by his CEO via WhatsApp to know whether him(Jack) had reported at work but admitted not having reported because it was a ‘public holiday’.

Following his failure to report at work without noticing the company Human Resource officer named Phyllis or being notified of the ‘break’ by the HR, Jack was told to handover the company’s property – laptop and bid bye.

 

Why would you follow a politician’s word, we run a company and get paid over Ksh 180,000 a month to support and to be in the office.

 

” Do report and hand over your office laptop tomorrow before COB” reads part of the conversation.
