Police Addresses Viral Audio Of Woman Accusing Husband Of Sodomizing Their Children

Uganda Police Force Spokesperson Fred Enanga

Uganda Police are investigating a WhatsApp audio that was shared online with a woman accusing her husband of sodomizing his three biological children.

According to the viral audio, a woman who identifies herself as Sarah Nalwoga says she is married to Dr. Igeme Katagwa who she claims is gay and has sodomized their two sons and one daughter. In the audio she notes that she has tried to report the issue to the police but her case was dismissed.

She states that all her children are on treatment with evidence to back up the molestation but her last born son needs an operation worth UGX. 8 million which she says she cannot raise, therefore calling upon the public for help.

Addressing the audio, police spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga noted that this is the third time the issue was coming up in the public and with the two previous complaints; Sarah was found to have fabricated the stories against her husband because there was no evidence of sexual assault on the two children.

The first time happened in March 2021 when Sarah accused her husband of sexually abusing their 13 and 15 year old children. As a result, the family was interviewed separately by a specialist CID team trained to investigate incidences of child sexual abuse.

“From the interviews and findings, the counselor did not find any signs of physical or sexual abuse, but she indicated they had signs of psychological torture as a result of abuse from their mother. The victims were also examined by Doctors at Mulago National Referral Hospital, and none of them found any evidence of alleged physical and sexual abuse. The posterior tissues and petulant anal sphincter were normal with no signs of physical and sexual abuse.” Enanga said.

According to Enanga, the victims also denied any form of sexual abuse allegations by anybody, but acknowledged that they had a close relationship with their father, something that made their mother uncomfortable.

Enanga however revealed that he had launched an investigation into the matter following the release of the new audio but cautioned parents to keep their children away from their marital problems as it destroys the young ones.

At the time of the presser, Enanga also noted that the estranged couple has an ongoing divorce case in court. The children are in school and the complainant continues to stay in their marital home with her husband separately staying in Ntinda.
