Form One Allegedly Beaten To Death By Teachers Over Cheating In Physics Exam
Detectives in Tinderet Sub-County are investigating a case where a Form one Student at Chemase High School died after an alleged corporal punishment by his teachers.
Kelvin Kiptanui,16, is said to have died shortly after being admitted at Nandi Hills Level (IV) Hospital On Friday.
According to the area Police Commander Ali Jire, the case was reported to them by the mother of the deceased and thus the matter was handed over to the DCI for more probing.
The deceased is said to have been caned by the teachers for referring to his Physics textbook while doing a Physics examination.
Reports further indicate that the deceased was barely two weeks old in the school.
The body has been moved to Nandi Hills Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem to determine the cause of the death.
