Government Orders Probe Into Reports Of Homosexuality Recruitment In Schools
Ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda has opened investigations on social media reports that claim there is a group of unknown people offering money to youths in schools while luring them into homosexuality.
The Education minister, Hon. Janet Museveni, during her visit to Kings College Budo, one of the top schools in Uganda, revealed that the authorities are working tirelessly to come to the root of the alleged rumor.
“We are investigating to get to the root of the social media report so that we get the actual evidence that we can hold those responsible accountable. This will bring an end to these vices and give justice to the affected learners and their families.”
Hon. Janet also expressed her disgust at the increased sexual immorality among the young people and called upon the school authorities to look out and be mindful of the children they are keeping.
“This is distressing. Be good and faithful stewards of the next generation that God has entrusted you with. You cannot allow these vices to go on. Parents who have entrusted you with their children deserve faithfulness and accountability.” She said.
They also encouraged the masses not to believe anything they read on social media as most of the news is not true and damaging to the images of these schools.
The developments come after social media viral reports on social media by a parent who claimed her son was sodomized by a teacher at Kings College Budo.
“We request that the findings of the police inquiry are released soon so that we get the people who are behind these acts.” Bishop Luwalira called upon the police.
