TSC Interdicts Teachers Who Coerced Pupils Into An Indecent Sexual Act
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has interdicted six teachers from Itumbe Dok Primary School in Nyamache Sub-County, Kisii County for coercing six pupils to engage into an indecent act.
In a video footage circulating on social media, the young boys in uniform are shown engaging in an indecent act as teachers laugh about the incident.
As for the aforementioned case, TSC released an official letter of interdiction on 2nd February, 2023 to the suspected teachers to vacate the school with immediate effect from the dated day.
“You exposed the learners to indecent sexual acts by directing them to engage in inappropriate acts depicting homosexuality within the school compound, consequently you are hereby interdicted with effect from February 2nd 2023,” the letter reads.
TSC says in coercing the pupils to engage in the indecent act, the teachers breached Clause 9 (1) of the Conduct for teachers by actively participating, recording the video footage of the minors and circulating the same to social media causing trauma, mental torture and embarrassment to the minors.
However, the six have been invited to defend themselves by writing to the TSC within 21 days from the dated letter and given an opportunity to be listened to.
“ You are therefore required to show cause why you should not be deregistered,” the letter reads.
Further, the teachers are also entitled to report to TSC Nyamache Sub-County office once per month as they provide evidence of defense upon themselves.
The six Everline Moraa, Gladys Kenyanya, Moraa Nyairo, Cathrine Mokaya, Angelicia Joseph and William Isoka were arrested by Nyamache Police Officers on Wednesday and now, TSC has directed them to vacate the office and forfeit their annual leave.
