Kenya’s giant telco Safaricom makes changes at the helm of management
Safaricom PLC has made changes in its top management on the backdrop of the installment of the new board chairman Adil Khawaja who replaced John Ngumi a week ago.
The telco’s Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndegwa announced new appointments on Wednesday where among others Esther Masese was named Chief Financial Services Officer. The appointment of the KCB Corporate Banking Director takes effect from February 21, 2023.
Previously, Masese worked at Stanbic bank, Stanchart and Commercial Bank of Africa.
“She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of East Africa, Baraton and a Master of Business Administration from University of Liverpool, UK,” Kenya’s giant telecommunication company said.
Masese takes the position left by Boniface Mungania who has in turn been appointed Director of Public Sector Digital Transformation with effect from April 1.
“In this role, he will collaborate with key functional owners including Enterprise, Financial Services, Technology and Business Development to deliver solutions in an agile way,” Safaricom stated.
In the meantime, Zizwe Awuor Vundla, Diageo South Africa Marketing Head, is now the Director of Brand and Marketing effective immediately. She holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Cape Town.
