City fashion designer Austine Omondi, popularly known as Bolo Bespoke, confessed that he was seriously pained after the sudden death of his dad.
Speaking to Maskani 47, the celebrated dress designer revealed that immediately after he had finished his High School education and gone to Nairobi to make a living, his dad passed away.
Bolo said his dad didn’t see his High School results or taste the sweetness of the money he had gone to look for in Nairobi. The dress designer said he was hurt since his dad had struggled to fend for them and paid their fees despite their humble background challenges.

Bolo also confessed that his dream to leave their village immediately after High School was to make a living, change their home and make his dad happy. However, death cut short the wishes he had for his dad.
“So, akiwa amefurahi akisubiria matokeo, hata before matokeo yatokee, Mzee hakuwahi kuona hata shilingi yangu. Hata matokeo hakuyaona. Dad passed na hiyo ilini-heartbreak sana juu I have been a very hard working young man and with the experience I went through at my younger age, nilikuwa nakuja Nairobi nikisema huyu Mzee lazma aishi maisha yenye atafurahia.” Bolo recounted.
He emphasised that he has yet to forget the painful season and that whenever he recalls their humble beginnings, he’s hurt since his dad is not around to live a happy life and see the blessings God has brought to their family.
“Huwa inaniwasha sana ingawaje kwa sasa Mungu amebibariki kwa kiwango chake na Mzee hayupo pale kuyaona. Hawezi enjoy na hawezi ona hata hawezi kuwa proud.
“Every time siwezi nikasahau. Ilini-heartbreak sana. At that time, I was so hurt, traumatised, and it took me time to heal.” He said, adding that with what he has achieved, he educated his siblings, and they live a happy life with their mother.
