Investigations Launched On Claims of Exam Cheating In KCSE 2022
The Senate Education Committee has now launched Investigations into claims of cheating In the 2022 KCSE Exams whose results indicated an unusual rise in candidates posting top grades.
According to the chairperson of The Committee Senator Joe Nyutu, his Team is looking into concerns raised after some schools recorded an Extraordinary number of Students scored Straight As.
“We are investigating whether there was leakage. We have seen queries by Kenyans on social media but we urge them to be patient. We want to ascertain the truth,” he said
He did not, however, indicate what actions would be done if it was shown that there was cheating.
According to the results released last Friday by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, 1,146 candidates received A grades, up from 1,138 in 2021.
CS Machogu, on the other hand, has rejected the allegations of cheating, claiming that exams were not leaked in favor of specific schools in the Nyanza region.
