Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared an emotional update about Baby James, announcing that he has finally resumed school after months of trauma and fear following his father’s death.

 

Sonko stated that Baby James developed an intense fear of people shortly after his father’s burial and was gripped by the belief that those responsible for his father’s death would come after him too.

 

Taking to social media, the former Governor revealed the heartbreaking journey the child has endured since the tragic loss of his father.

“The devil continues to be a liar. He tried to shatter the life of this baby. Soon after his late Dad’s burial he developed fear for people and didn’t want to go back to school. Whenever we took him to any school he would decline saying those who killed his Dad will come to kill him as well,” he stated.

 

The businessman also revealed that he had committed to helping Baby James heal by taking him for regular therapy sessions with a children’s specialist until he was ready to go back to school.

 

“I never lost hope and I kept on taking him to a children’s therapist at Gertrude children’s hospital. Today I’m glad to inform the public that baby James has accepted to go back to school. Let’s continue to pray for him,” Sonko added.

Mike Sonko offered to adopt the little boy after his father was stabbed by thugs while escorting him to school in Mathare Area 4, Nairobi, a few months ago.
