Emerging outstanding creators and talents deserve a recognition and appreciation. While this might sound so obvious, most major Award Platforms are not putting it into consideration. However, Pride of Kenya Awards(POKA) have come into the picture to ensure that the young talents receive special attention.
POKA, launched in 2023, will hold its second edition of Awards this November 2, 2024 with voting that is currently ongoing set to end on October 25,2024.

When did you officially launch Pride of Kenya Awards?
The Pride of Kenya Awards were officially launched in 2023, marking our inaugural event. The gala night took place at Zetech University.
What motivated the inception of Pride of Kenya Awards?
There is a significant gap in supporting emerging talents who lack recognition and access to platforms that provide mentorship and networking opportunities. Many untapped talents exist, motivating us to pursue this project. Our main goal is to create a problem-solving community where young people can steer clear of crime and concentrate on developing their talents.
When did you hold your first edition of awards?
The first edition took place in 2023, although we hosted the gala night in January 2024.
Which major challenge did you encounter during the first edition?
Finances have posed a significant challenge, but we’ve navigated through it with the support of our partners, particularly Zetech University, which has been instrumental in providing assistance.
How do you come up with a list of nominees for various awards?
We are committed to equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusivity. Therefore, registration is available directly through our website.
Has a nominated candidate ever declined to participate? What reason did they give?
Nominations are self registrations via our website therefore we have no such cases
For this second edition, when will voting end and when will winners get their awards?
The gala night is set to happen on November 2nd (confirmed)
Apart from the trophies, do winners get any monetary appreciation?
Yes, we offer cash prizes, typically awarded at the committee’s discretion. We continually seek to identify unique talents and also have additional awarding systems, such as record deals for musicians.
