Odibets, a sports betting company in Kenya has bought a new phone for sports journalist Fred Arocho following the Kisumu mishap.
In a recent video that went viral on social media, the Radio 47 journalist was celebrating with fans in Kisumu when an unidentified fan eloped with his expensive phone worth Ksh 210k.
In the viral video, Fred Arocho was captured celebrating the sweetness of the sports game but all of a sudden, his moods changed after he discovered his phone missing.

The loss of the phone left Fred Arocho frustrated to the extent of cutting shot the celebration and asking fans who had surrounded him the whereabouts of his phone.
Following the loss of the phone, Odibets General Manager Dedan Mungai came to his rescue by gifting him a new phone. When receiving the phone at Odibets offices, Arocho felt elated by revealing that what keeps his life is a phone.
“My phone is my life, everything I do revolves around it, I shoot content everywhere I go with my phone thus it was a huge loss but now I have an even better phone courtesy of Odibets who have come through for me,” Arocho said.

When giving Arocho the new phone, Mr Mungai recognized him as a worthy sports journalist who deserves the best to push his content and sports updates.
“Today we are here to support our very own Arocho who found himself on the unfortunate turn of events. Our efforts to reinstate his status phone will help him, continue doing the good he has been championing for society thus far,” Mr Mungai asserted.
