Renowned sports journalist Fred Arocho has transitioned to a new role at TV47 shortly after announcing his departure from Citizen TV. Arocho, known for his expertise in sports commentary, has now become the fresh face of TV47 sports, marking a significant career advancement.
The announcement came via Arocho’s Facebook post, where he expressed gratitude for the opportunity and blessings bestowed upon him.

“It’s been 4 years of great moments at Citizen TV’s Sporty Monday Show. As I pen off, may I take this opportunity to thank the Management of Royal Media Services for the opportunity to serve, fellow panelists Mukami Wambora, Steve Shitera, Zitah Jimoi, special regards to the Head of RMS Sports Centre Isaac Swila for the memorable moments at work. I have truly enjoyed every bit of my stay” he wrote upon CITIZEN TV exit.
Previously affiliated with Citizen TV for four years, Arocho’s departure from the Royal Media Services-owned station was marked by appreciation for his time there. His contributions, notably on the Sporty Monday show, have been acknowledged by both management and colleagues.
Although the exact reasons for his departure from Citizen TV were not initially disclosed, sources indicate a potential conflict of interest given the competition between Citizen TV and TV47. Arocho’s decision to solely focus on TV 47 aligns with professional considerations.

“Arocho was told by TV47 that Citizen TV is a competitor and there was a conflict of interest. So he had to quit the job. His salary was raised to enable him to concentrate on his job at TV47” the source stated
