Four Reported Dead As Bus Hits Easter Procession
At least four individuals lost their lives when a bus collided with an Easter Sunday procession in Brazil’s northeastern Pernambuco state, as confirmed by the governor.Reports from emergency responders indicated that approximately 20 individuals sustained injuries in the tragic incident.
“My condolences to the worshippers and families of the victims of the hit-and-run that occurred during the procession in Jaboatao, which caused the death of at least four people,” Governor Raquel Lyra said in an Instagram post.

Mayor Mano Medeiros of Jaboatão described the event as a “serious accident” via the social network X, formerly Twitter refraining from disclosing the actual number of the deaths resulting from the accident.
However, an unverified video of the collision is circulating on social media and local news outlets, depicting the bus descending a steep road and crashing into a crowd accompanying the procession.The bus driver fled the accident scene as per reports from local media in Brazil.
