“Kwendeni Huko”: Peter Salasya Fumes After Being Kicked Out of SGR’s VIP Section
Peter Salasya, Mumias East Member of Parliament felt bad after he was kicked out from Standard Gauge Railway’s VIP section to economic class.
On his way to the East Africa Community Parliamentary Games (EAC) in Mombasa, the lawmaker was seated in the VIP section with other lawmakers when he was removed by the SGR manager to economics.
Peter Salasya fumed after he was taken to the Economic Class section without being given a reason. Angrily, he looked heartbroken with a bag on his shoulder as he headed to the economic section.

In the clip, Peter Salasya was recorded asking SGR officials the reason for being removed from the VIP section which accommodated lawmakers like him.
However, he was not given a reason but accepted half-heartedly to move to the Economic Class, leaving lawmakers in the VIP section.

As 50 MPs headed for EAC games in Mombasa, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, said the choice of MPs to use SGR was to cut the cost of the travel.
Wetang’ula stated that Rail transport was less costly compared to private flights. He claimed they also aimed to reduce taxes that may be incurred by air transport.
