Kitui:Thief Falls To Death After Breaking Into Shop Through The Roof
A man in his middle age was discovered lifeless in an electronics store after allegedly falling from the roof while attempting theft from the outlet in Mwingi, Kitui County, earlier today.
The shop owner, identified as Mulinge Kituo, stumbled upon the grim scene upon opening his shop this morning, encountering both a hole in the ceiling and the lifeless body of the suspected intruder.
“When I arrived, I noticed that the gypsum ceiling was broken. I then noticed the body. I wasn’t sure if he was alive or dead so I closed shop and promptly headed to a police station,” said Kituo.

Promptly reporting the incident to the authorities at the Mwingi Police Station, Kituo’s discovery triggered a swift response from officers who rushed to the scene to conduct further investigations.
Later, the unidentified man’s body was l transferred to the Mwingi level 4 hospital mortuary for further examination.
CCTV footage retrieved from the premises revealed the daring break-in attempt, capturing the intruder’s efforts to breach the iron sheets covering the shop and the plaster ceiling. The footage notably captured the moment when the individual’s legs dangled from the ceiling before his fatal descend to the ground.

Adding to the intrigue, the CCTV timestamps indicated that the man did not succumb immediately, as he was seen coughing heavily for approximately ten minutes before becoming motionless.
