Content creator Oga Obinna found himself embroiled in controversy after publicly berating TikToker Nyako brother at an event where he was representing her to receive an award.
Nyako, who was out of the country, clinched the prestigious award at the Marwa Awards. As the event’s MC, Obinna repeatedly referred to Nyako’s brother as “Big Daddy,” a moniker associated with someone accused of leaking Nyako’s private videos.
This careless choice of words sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning Oga Obinna’s behavior. Realizing the gravity of his mistake, Obinna promptly issued an apology. He expressed remorse for his actions, explaining that he was unaware of Nyako’s brother’s identity and never intended any harm with the nickname.

Obinna attributed the misunderstanding to a lighthearted comment he made about Nyako’s representative, who appeared on stage with a beard. This led him to mistakenly assume they were not related.
In his apology, Oga Obinna stated; “I have just seen the video; it has been sent to me. The part I did was I called Nyako’s brother, Big Daddy. Apologies for that. I did not know he was Nyako’s brother. I didn’t even believe he was Nyako’s brother because when Nyako’s representative came on stage, I was joking like Nyako had really changed. She’s gained weight. And then there was a guy with a beard. I apologise. I didn’t intend it that way. It went south. It was a bad day in the office. Honestly, I apologise. It was an oversight on my end. I didn’t mean it like that.”
While some social media users questioned the appropriateness of Obinna’s remarks at the event, others acknowledged his sincere apology.
