President Museveni’s Daughter Finally Speaks 2 Years After Quiet Divorce
President Museveni’s youngest daughter, Diana Kyaremera has finally opened up two years after her quiet divorce.Diana was married to her husband, businessman Geoffrey Kamuntu for 18 years. She married Kamuntu on July 24, 2004, and they share three children – two boys and one girl.
She sparked reactions among netizens after posting details of her divorce two years later.

In a official statement, Diana confirmed the dissolution of her marriage to Kamuntu. She presented ‘Decree Nisi’ which legally dissolved the union in 2022.Diana had tried to keep the matter private but she felt pressed to address her divorce to the public for her children’s sake.
Recounting the challenges especially emotional ones, she gave the magnitude of divorce to family, more so when children are at the centre.
“I have tried to keep my divorce private and out of the public sphere for the sake of my children,” Kyaremera stated.
While addressing the hardships associated with separation Kyaremera appealed to the public for support and understanding. She requested prayers for her family and urged respect for their privacy as they move forward.
“As you all know, divorce is a very difficult thing, especially when there are children involved,” she added.

In 2022, Diana applied to the National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) in Uganda to legally drop her husband’s name, Kamuntu, expressing her desire to be known as Diana Kyaremera Museveni.She is also the managing director of Museveni family enterprises.
