Chris Embarambamba has responded to the KFCB verdict demanding him to pull down his Niko Uchi song.

In the long statement released by the Kenya Film Classification Board, Chris Embarambamba was ordered to remove his latest song purported to be gospel from all digital media platforms.

The board said Niko Uchi song goes against the board’s rules and regulations about clean and educative content for society which is uncalled for. According to the board, Niko Uchi comprised nude and vulgar content unconsumable by society.

The song titled ‘Niko Uchi’, which is purported gospel, invites ridicule to the Christian religion, also contains nudity (and) vulgarity. It has further been noted that some of the artiste’s dancing styles are violent and others present imitable behaviour, which if copied by children/minors, can be dangerous and disastrous,” KFCB said in a statement.

Following the KFCB decision on the song, the controversial Abagusii gospel singer has come out clean to defend his song by alleging the song is pure gospel and far away from what the board alleged.

According to Embarambamba, his song is full of metaphors just like the teachings of biblical Jesus and what lies between him and most Kenyans is a misunderstanding.

“Kuna watu wanafikiria hizi nyimbo za gospel Embarambamba anaimba ni za tabia mbaya, unajua lazima tuelezee wakenya ukweli. Shida iko kati yangu na nyinyi ni understanding ya wimbo because mtu anaskia mwanzo anaanza kujudge,” he explained.

However, he has advised both KFCB and Kenyans to take time when they listen to his songs before jumping to conclusions.
