I Want To Speak To You- Drama As Woman Disrupts President Ruto’s speech During Kelvin Kiptum’s Burial
There was drama at the funeral of Kelvin Kiptum in his parents’ home in Chepsamo Village, Elgeyo Marakwet County, as a woman attempted to disrupt proceedings by trying to talk to President William Ruto.
The unexpected interruption occurred during President Ruto’s speech, although it remains unclear why the woman sought to speak with him at that moment. This incident comes amidst previous disruptions to Kiptum’s funeral arrangements after a woman named Edna Awuor sought to halt the burial, claiming to have children fathered by Kiptum.

Despite these challenges, the funeral service for the 24-year-old world-beater is proceeding as planned at Chepkorio showground, near his parents’ home. Following the service, Kiptum’s remains will be laid to rest at his new home in Cherunya, Lotonyok area, in Ainabkoi constituency.
Kiptum’s mother has accepted that she must now “live for my grandchildren”.

The champion’s three-bedroom house has also been constructed and is ready to be handed over to the family. The house radiates beauty and purpose, proving that in the face of doubt, persistence transforms critique it remains a majestic end product. It was built in a record six days following an order by President William Ruto. Kiptum died on February 11 in a car crash, just a few months after he smashed the world record.
He died in the company of his Rwandan coach Gervais Hakizimana, 36. Hakizimana was laid to rest on Wednesday, this week. A woman who was in their company during the accident survived after sustaining injuries.
