During the interview, the legendary striker revealed the amount of money he used to earn while he was at Gor Mahia. “I used to earn Ksh. 250,000 (a month) at Gor Mahia.” adding that he was the most paid player at the club then.

Giving out reasons as to why he intends to run for FKF presidency, Oliech said many players in the Kenya Premier League go even 12 months without pay and one of his agendas is to put that to an end. He also revealed that during his time, Harambee Stars players used to be paid 1-2 days to the game and the payment was done in cash which puts them on awkward situation, saying that will never happen in his tenure. “Players being paid on Thursday and the game is on Saturday, imagine having 60K in your pocket, would the player worry about the game or the safety of his money?”
