Ivory Coast players can smile all the way to the bank as their president Alassane Ouattara rewarded them for the job well done after winning the African Cup of Nations trophy in their home soil on Sunday 11th February.

The Elephants nearly exited the tournament at the Group stage after winning only one match that was their opener fixture against Guinea Bissau followed by two defeats a 1-0 defeat from Nigeria and then their heaviest defeat in AFCON’s history where they suffered a loss 4-0 to Equatorial Guinea in front of home fans.
