Nigerian Government Warns Citizens Living In South Africa To Avoid Excessive Celebration Ahead of AFCON Semi-Final Clash

The Nigerian government has sent a warning to its citizens living in South Africa ahead of the 2023 AFCON tournament. AFCON enters the Semi-Finals stage this week on Wednesday 7th February, with the most anticipated Semi-Final clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

Despite being in two different African regions, the two countries have the biggest rivalries in Business, politics, music to sports. The two nations will meet in this year’s 2023 AFCON Semi-Final fixture dubbed ‘Amapiano Derby’ which will see both sides fight for AFCON 2023 FINALS ticket.

The Nigerian government has told Nigerian citizens living in South Africa to be law-abiding before, during, and after the 2023 AFCON semi-final clash between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana.

In a letter seen by Mideyah Digital Sports desk issued by the Nigeria High Commission in South Africa warned the Nigeria residents in South Africa to be law-abiding and avoid excessive celebrations in case of Nigeria manages to win the match against the Bafana Bafana tomorrow.

The Caution was issued by Nigeria High Commision to Nigerians living in South Africa.

Threats were issued to Nigerians living in the country ahead of the most anticipated Semi-Final clash between the two sides.

Most of the comments read, “Showing pepper to Nigerians if the Bafana Bafana lose to the Super Eagles” this made the Nigerian government through the Nigeria High Commission based in South Africa issued a warning letter advising Nigerians to be watchful on their utterances, where they will be watching the match as well as avoiding the loud or provocative celebrations incase Nigeria wins.
