Chelsea and Nigeria Legend John Obi Mikel Predicts The Teams That Will Qualify To This Year’s AFCON Finals
John Obi Mikel predicts teams which play in this year’s African Cup of Nations 2023 tournament as it enters the Semi-Finals stage with only four teams left at the tournament which are the Hosts, Ivory Coast, DR Congo, South Africa and the super Eagles of Nigeria all eyeing to take part in the 34th edition FINAL.
As excitements gets high with many waiting to see who will advance to the 2023 AFCON Finals which is scheduled to be played on Sunday 11th February at Stade Alassane Ouattara. The super Eagles of Nigeria will face Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a Semi-Final clash dubbed ‘Amapiano Derby’ while hosts Ivory Coast will face the Leopards of DR Congo in the second Semi-Final.

Former Chelsea and Nigeria legendary midfielder John Obi Mikel has given his predictions on who will advance to this year’s FINALS in Ivory Coast.
Speaking on his podcast [The Obi One Podcast] Obi Mikel predicted a West African Final between Nigeria and Hosts Ivory Coast, “I was thinking about it the other day. We managed to beat them in the group stage when they were on the brink of exiting the tournament, and all of a sudden, you know, they are back in it and now,”
Obi Mikel continued adding that, “They have got a wind with them and are now playing prettily okay but not so well, but they have started to win games, and now, if they can manage to get to the final, who knows?”
The two African powerhouses met in the group stage where Nigeria managed to get a narrow 1-0 win against Ivory Coast through a penalty.
