“Sikutarajia”: Youth with Tattoo Disqualified From NYS Recruitment In Thika
A youth in Thika, Kiambu County has been disqualified from National Youth Service recruitment for having tattoos on their bodies. The youth braced themselves on Tuesday morning to Thika Stadium for the recruitment where during physical body check-up, a section of them were disqualified for failing to meet the requirements.
According to the video clip shared by Citizen TV, the youth with tattoos were filmed regretting tattooing their bodies without putting into consideration what may befall them soon.

“Nilikuwa nimekuja hapa Thika Stadium ku-recruit NYS but nikapatwa na mambo ambayo sikudhania yanaweza kutokea kwa sababu nilipatwa na tattoo.” One youth testified her encounter at the stadium.
“Hiyo tattoo ndiyo imefanya nitolewe nje nikaambiwa siwezi nikaendelea.” the devasted young man added.
According to the young man, at the time he tattooed his body, he never imagined there would come a day when his action would bar him from landing on a financial deal meant to change his future.

“Nilichora tattoo nikiwa high school na hiyo time singeona kama ni big deal.” He flashed back to the days he went to get his body tattooed.
Having met the realities of his tattoo, he requested tattoo artists with experience in removing permanent art to come to his aid so that his dream of becoming a police officer come true.
“Kama kuna mtu yupo hapo nje na yupo na experience ya kuzitoa (tattooes), nitashukuru sana akija na kunitoa.” He requested.
